Book Sale Madness!

Whoa!  What a weekend!  Saturday, the other two lemonade teachers and I, along with our cohort Caleb, worked the Scholastic Book Warehouse Sale.  If you have never been, you HAVE to go!  You can get so many books for your classroom at SUPER discounted prices.  We volunteered for 8 hours!  Yes, you read that correctly 8 hours....with no lunch break.  We were literally about to pass out by the end!  {I am pretty sure I started getting dizzy from the lack of food!}  But we are hard core!

Check out all the books I got for about $10.00 out of pocket!!!  There are over 50 books here!

You earn $10 an hour towards your purchase if you volunteer.  I also had a $25 off coupon for spending $100 or more.  And the books are discounted.  Most are half off!  They also have a Build a Box section, where you can fill a box for $25.  So check to see if you have a warehouse in your area, and GO if you do!  It is SO worth it!

Now for some randomness:

I love flip books!  Does anyone else share that love for them?   You can use them for anything.  We used them for cause and effect last week.

I purchased What the Teacher Wants Holidays Around the World Unit.  Love it!  I had them make suitcases out of cereal boxes to store all of their work for the week in.  I can't remember where I found the little flags.  {I am sure on a blog!}  My original thought was to paint the cereal boxes brown, but we had to cover them with paper first to get the paint to cover well.

We made the wooden clogs today and left them out tonight for Saint Nicholas!  Can't wait to see if he comes and what he brings!

Merry Christmas!

  1. Dang! I would have to go 400 miles to get to a Scholastic warehouse! You are so lucky. Books are one thing I'd starve myself for. And if you knew me, you'd know how much that says about my love of books.
